AmazonSmile Nonprofit Support Program Cancelled

Amazon has announced the termination of its longstanding charitable program, AmazonSmile, after nearly a decade of operation. The program, which donated 0.5% of the sales price of selected items to various organizations worldwide, will begin winding down by February 20, 2023.

Since the program’s launch in 2013, more than $449 million has been donated to more than 1 million nonprofit organizations across the globe, according to the Nonprofit Times. In an effort to assist these organizations is a seamless transition out of the program, Amazon has announced that they will be making a one-time donation, equaling 25% of what the charities earned in 2022.

The Speedy Foundation would like express our gratitude to AmazonSmile and our loyal donors who have raised $1,324.73 over the years. These donations have helped us in pursuing our mission of preventing suicide through mental health advocacy, education, and promoting conversations that help to end the stigma.
