The Speedy Foundation is seeking internship candidates who are passionate about advancing our mission of preventing suicide and elevating mental health. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaborating virtually with teammates.

We are looking for student interns who can dedicate anywhere from 10-29 hours per week towards this employment opportunity. Internship dates run from Sept. 18 - Dec. 8, 2023. Community Engagement and Marketing Intern

About the organization: The Speedy Foundation is a non-profit organization created in memory of 3-time Olympic Aerialist Jeret “Speedy” Peterson of Boise, ID and Park City, UT. Our mission is to prevent suicide and elevate mental health through advocacy, conversations, and education.

About the role: As the Community Engagement and Marketing Intern you will play a key role in expanding our impact across the communities we serve. This role offers a unique opportunity to contribute your creative talents and marketing knowledge to a truly important cause. The ideal candidate is a creative, motivated self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaborating virtually with team members.

Responsibilities - The Community Engagement and Marketing Intern will work closely with our team and other interns to:

Assist with marketing campaigns

Assist with management across all social media platforms

Work to expand our online presence and increase audience engagement

Create engaging content that is representative of The Speedy Foundation’s mission

Monitor social media analytics and track performance using social media analytics programs

Attend and assist in planning community outreach events

Actively seek community engagement and outreach opportunities

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements / Desired Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in communications, marketing, public relations, or a related field

Creative thinker with ability to develop engaging content

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently in a remote work environment

Interest in mental health and suicide prevention. A personal connection is a plus but is not required

Familiarity with major social media platforms and their best practices

Basic knowledge of social media analytics and reporting

A motivated self-starter with the ability to problem solve

Philanthropy and Outreach Intern

About the role: As the Philanthropy and Outreach intern you will have the opportunity to develop and contribute your skills in fundraising, event management, and community outreach to a truly important cause. The ideal candidate is a proactive and motivated self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaborating virtually with team members.

Responsibilities - The Philanthropy and Outreach Intern will work closely with our team and other interns to:

Assist with philanthropy campaigns (ie. Live PC/Give PC)

Assist in the development of our annual HOPE Golf Tournament

Solicit donations for our annual HOPE Golf Tournament

Lead the development of a fundraising and sponsorship toolkit

Research grants and application processes

Assist in managing a fundraising platform

Attend and assist in planning community outreach events

Actively seek and research funding opportunities

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements / Desired Qualifications:

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Ability to work independently in a remote work environment

Interest in mental health and suicide prevention. A personal connection is a plus but is not required

Basic understanding of best practices in fundraising and donor relations

Experience with fundraising software is a plus

Marketing Intern

About the role: As the Marketing Intern you will be responsible for leading the “Impactful Film Trilogy” marketing campaign. The Impactful Film Trilogy is a collection of three films related to mental health that revolve around topics like cyber-bullying, social media, and anxiety. You will have the opportunity to use your marketing skills to distribute vital resources to your local community. The ideal candidate is a creative, motivated self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaborating virtually with teammates.

Responsibilities - The Marketing Intern will work closely with our team and other interns to:

Lead the “Impactful Film Trilogy” marketing campaign

Create engaging content that is representative of The Speedy Foundation’s mission

Business Operations Intern (Supply Chain Focus)

About the role: As the Business Operations Intern you will play a key role in expanding distribution opportunities for our mentally covered beanie line. The ideal candidate is a creative, motivated self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and collaborating virtually with teammates.

Responsibilities - The Business Operations Intern will work closely with our team and other interns to:

Lead merchandising operations

Assist in inventory management, tracking stock levels, and coordinating restocks

Research and identity potential wholesale partners, including retail stores and boutiques

Reach out to prospective wholesale partners

Provide support in preparing marketing materials and presentations for wholesale pitches

Monitor sales trends, analyze data, and produce data-driven reports

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a degree in business administration, supply chain management, entrepreneurship management, or a related field

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently in a remote work environment

Interest in mental health and suicide prevention. A personal connection is a plus but is not required

Prior experience in supply chain, retail, sales, or customer service is a plus

Ability to analyze data and produce data-driven reports

Data Entry Intern

Responsibilities - The data entry intern will work closely with our team and other interns to:

Enter data into various online platforms

Organize existing data

Assist with data collection and analysis

Prepare reports, graphs, and charts to measure impact and growth

Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements / Preferred Qualifications:

Strong computer literacy skills

Ability to work independently in a remote work environment

Excellent oral and written communication skills

Proficient in Excel and Google Sheets

Interest in mental health and suicide prevention. A personal connection is a plus but is not required

Experience with data migration and data management is highly preferred
