Idaho's Suicide Prevention Advocacy Day

Idaho's Suicide Prevention Advocacy Day event in Boise on Wednesday, February 15, 2017! The event is a joint effort of AFSP-Idaho, the Idaho Suicide Prevention Hotline, the Idaho Suicide Prevention Coalition, the Speedy Foundation and the LiveWilder Foundation.

In conjunction with Advocacy Day, hearings are scheduled with both the Senate and House Health & Welfare Committees:

Senate H&W:  Tuesday, February 14th, 3:00pm, Meeting Room WW54
Dr. Linda Hatzenbuehler of the Governor’s Council on Suicide Prevention and Kim Kane of the office on suicide prevention will present updates.  http://healthandwelfare.idaho.gov/Families/SuicidePrevention/tabid/486/Default.aspx), Nate Fisher, Executive Director of The Idaho Suicide Prevention Coalition (www.idahospc.org.) has been asked to discuss coroner reporting, mental holds / commitments, and Safe Storage. 

House H&W:  Wednesday, February 15th, 9:00am, Meeting Room EW20
Suicide Prevention Advocacy Day!  Linda Hatzenbuehler and Kim Kane presented the day prior, on the 14th.  Nate Fisher, Executive Director of ISPC will discuss coroner reporting, Judge Jack Varin (retired) will discuss mental holds / commitments and access to guns, and Stewart Wilder of LiveWilder will discuss Safe Storage.
