OPIOID OVERDOSE PREVENTION
Eastern Nevada County - Supplies, Training & Outreach Events
The Speedy Foundation has partnered with Nevada County Public Health to provide opioid overdose prevention support in Eastern Nevada County. We are happy to support these efforts by providing free Narcan and Fentanyl testing strips, literature, opioid response training, as well as community outreach at local events. About the Campaign
Know Overdose Nevada County’s goals are to:
Prevent deaths from drug overdoses
Keep people safer when using drugs
Connect people who use drugs and their support networks to resources and information
Know Overdose Nevada County works to achieve these goals through education and training on overdose prevention and harm reduction strategies, connecting people to resources, and increasing access to Narcan (Naloxone) and fentanyl test strips.

Training

Opioid Overdose Training - Narcan™ and Fentanyl Test Strips – Training on how to use Narcan™ and/or fentanyl test strips. Includes information about opioids, fentanyl, signs of an overdose, and how to administer Narcan™ and fentanyl test strips.
Dismantling Stigma – Explores the definition of stigma; the forms, elements and functions of stigma; and the impact of stigma on people who use drugs through interactive discussions.
Harm Reduction – Introduction to the foundations of harm reduction. Explores the principles of harm reduction and harm reduction services through interactive discussions.
